Community Awards
The Inspiring Career Opportunity Award
Judging
The judging panel will consist of one representative each from the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain and Community Initiatives Associates as well as one brand ambassador. They will base their evaluation of each nominee on the following criteria:
- Enhanced career opportunities for pupils
- Shown innovation in providing new career opportunities
- Dedication in helping children and young people
- Have developed links with the community to improve young peoples career prospects
Schools that help pupils to prepare for future employment and learn more about careers are invited to publicise their efforts by entering the IHG Inspiring Career Opportunity Award.
Projects will be judged on a combination of factors including structure, application and outcome.
A shortlist of nominees will be drawn up based on the information provided in the simple nomination form that can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Nominate’ button below. If the nominee is selected to appear on this list, the nominator will be asked to provide additional information about the individual’s work which will help the judges to select the award winner.

The Community Aware Care in the Community Award
Judging
The judging panel will consist of one representative each from the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain and Community Initiatives Associates as well as one brand ambassador. They will base their evaluation of each nominee on the following criteria:
- A project or initiative engaging with community members
- Have provided a service which has benefited the local area
- Improved links between the school and the community
- Has formed part of an ongoing project/scheme providing community care
Schools can often play a prominent role in caring for their community. The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain have introduced this award in order to identify the schools that carry out positive work in the wider community and establish links with local residents which can benefit both the school and other members of the public.

The Contender AM-box Award for Outstanding After-School/Pre-School Club
Judging
The judging panel will consist of one representative each from the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain and Community Initiatives Associates as well as one brand ambassador. They will base their evaluation of each nominee on the following criteria:
- An after school/pre-school provision for children
- Commitment and dedication
- Have seen their club grow in attendance and popularity
- Has played an active role in the local community
This award aims to highlight the excellent work that goes into the provision of such clubs and rewards a club which has made a difference to the lives of both children and the wider community.

The Community Initiatives Associates Fundraising Project Award
Judging
The judging panel will consist of one representative each from the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain and Community Initiatives Associates as well as one brand ambassador. They will base their evaluation of each nominee on the following criteria:
- Dedication to fundraising for a specific cause or project
- Fundraising has benefited both the school and the wider community
- Has seen children at the forefront of fundraising ideas
- Resulted in the introduction of new facilities, equipment, resources, etc.
Whilst new facilities or events can often be funded through grants, this award recognises a school that has raised funds in an innovative way in order to benefit their school and/or community. Nominees in this award have gone the extra mile in their attempts to raise money for their school.

The Police Club News Out of School Activity Award
Judging
The judging panel will consist of one representative each from the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain and Community Initiatives Associates as well as one brand ambassador. They will base their evaluation of each nominee on the following criteria:
- Innovative activity providing out of the classroom education
- An educational trip which has proved hugely popular with children
- Planning
- Organisation
Extra curricular activities and trips are an important part of school life. Police Club News is a magazine which focuses on the activities of Police Community Clubs all over the country and this award will recognise the efforts made outside of the classroom to encourage participation in extra curricular activities.
