The Lord John Stevens Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement 2011

Winner: Martin Tuck
Fairfields Primary School
Leading the development of the school’s culture, Martin has never wavered from continually seeking to move the school forward.
Martin introduced at Fairfields one of the first full ICT suites for pupils and he personally keeps the school website up to date. Keeping children up to date with the latest technological advances, Martin runs a highly successful ICT club every week.
“Mr Tuck has facilitated a full programme of visits, workshops and clubs that have allowed the children to experience different cultures and experiences that they would otherwise never have experienced,” said Giovanni Gaidoni in nominating Martin.
Chigwell Hall Event
The creation of a website has allowed the whole school community to view a variety of school events themselves. Martin regularly uploads videos and photographs from school events in order for parents to be ‘virtually’ there, experiencing their child’s learning. Over the years Martin has also ensured that no child, who might have missed an event through lack of funding of for any other reason, has been unable to participate.
Thanks to the efforts of Martin the school has received two ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspections in a row. The school offers an outstanding and diverse curriculum with Mr Lord John Stevens QPM
